Meeting the Learning Outcomes through Activities

Each of our activities meets learning outcomes (goals) for the B.C. Ministry of Education and for Oak and Orca School. We have ensured that all the learning outcomes are met through a number of activities, so that each child can choose different different activities and still meet many of the learning outcomes. It is the role of the Oak and Orca teacher to keep track of the learning outcomes each child has accomplished and suggest ways of interesting children in areas they have not chosen on their own. We have shown here how the example activities correspond to specific learning outcomes.

Note: For the ministry learning outcomes LA means Language Arts, S means Science, SS means social studies.

Oak and Orca School

Oak and Orca is the parent school of the Hands-On Home-Learning program. Our philosophies, teachers and many of our activities are tried and tested at the school first.  Home-Learners have the benefit of learning at home with the resources of a school behind them.
