Air Week (July 27th to 31st)
Air week will be spent considering the less tangible, less visible aspect of our bioregion. As one of the most influential parts of our surrounding environment, we will be invested in discussing the concept of 'air', what it is and what we do with it. And with two biking field trips, the week is sure to be a breeze.
Tuesday July 28th
Biking Trip to Clover Point
On our first air-themed field trip we will be biking to Clover Point to fly kites made during classtime. Clover Point is a famously windy location, and flying kites made from recycled materials will be an excellent chance to fully experience the turbulence and force of the most mysterious element.
Thursday July 30th
Biking to Beacon Hill
On Thursday we will be biking down to a duck pond close to Beacon Hill, to float sailboats made during classtime. Watching these boats made from recycled materials move across the water will be a first hand way to realize how air propels, moves and shakes our bioregion.
Community Investigation
A member of the community leads a workshop discussing their role or capacity
For our air-themed community investigation Terry the Bubble Man will be visiting. Terry is a frequent visitor of our school, and always brings a collection of bubble toys and gadgets which have the children chasing glycerin globules all over the field.
