Bioregional Summer Program
Oak and Orca School is pleased to be able to once again provide the Bioregional Summer Program as an option for Victoria children this summer. This licensed program supports children in learning about their home-place in a unique environment of exploratory, hands-on programming. Through field trips, workshops and activities, children are provided with learning choices all summer long that engage them in nature exploration, studies of science and nature, cultural topics, place-based activities, and nature awareness.
Compassionate communication informs the culture that is formed amongst participants and between adults and children in the program. Disputes are dealt with as a learning experience, a time for people to grow in their understanding of one another.
Amongst the many activities included in the program are weekly cycling field trips, cycling skills workshops, science, art, nature exploration, aikido, themed studies and invited guests.
